"Civil War Beauty" Block of the Month

This year we are doing two Civil War Blocks of the Month. This is what is refered to as the "Other" BOM. It's a pattern by Pam at Cotton Tales. We saw it at the MQ show last June and Becky decided that she wanted to make it her 2011 BOM.
We called our fabric rep. and ordered all the fabrics... and waited for them to arrive. We waited and waited and waited - no fabric. Finally we were told that it was not longer available- how could that be, it was a new line. So..... We started looking for another line to do it in. Nothing came close to what we had originally chosen so we decided to start over.

The fabric below is the discontinued fabric that we had picked out for our border...

Once again we picked out an entirely different line of fabric, totally different color way and pattern. Signed our customers and club members up and got started. Now, just as in a fairy tale... One day, the UPS man came and delivered 10 boxes of fabric. We opened the first box and just stared... there it was, the discontinued line of fabric - the entire order. OK, now what do we do? Of course - we just offer two BOM's and live happily every after.

These are the first three blocks. Normally, Becky does needle turn hand applique - this time she is doing machine. There are so many people afraid of the "A" word, well doing it by machine makes it possible for alot of us. Plus it enables Becky to be able to stay on schedule. Personally, I think they look wonderful, I'm not good at hand applique but I can manage machine.

I don't know how many kits are left. If you'd like one, please contact us so we can reserve one for you.
